The hardware
An Ecowitt WS90 "Wittboy" array on a one-inch J-pole bolted to a deck post, about eight
feet up in open air. Air temperature comes from a separate WN32 in permanent shade on the
screened porch — the array's own thermometer sits in the sun and reads high.

How a reading gets here
The sensors talk to the gateway over 915 MHz radio. A small job on the home server polls
the gateway's local API every minute and pushes the reading to Cloudflare, where this page
reads it. The gateway's cloud service is not used and the station has no inbound connection.
What the numbers do and don't say
A missing sensor shows a dash, never a zero — the gateway will happily serve its last
reading forever, so a sensor that has gone quiet is reported as quiet.
Sky cover is estimated from the pyranometer against a clear-sky model, not
observed. Treat it as an indication.
The record began when the station went up, and it says so rather than
padding the seven-day view with blanks.
